What they say...

During a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection, they surveyed a selection of people who use our home care service. Here are some of those views:

Every person that wrote to the Care Quality Commission said that Connect Care have reliable care staff, who are polite and understand their needs.

• "They are always ready to do everything in the care plan and extra."
• "The staff are quite wonderful."
• "I could recommend Connect Care to anyone."
• "It is fabulous; we had a bad experience with another agency but have recommended this agency to a number of people."
• "I feel completely happy to leave my family member when we go away as I know that the standard of care is very high."

Independence

It's important that the people that use our services have control over their own lives and maintain their independence.

• "I like it because I am the boss, I decide what to do, when and how to do it and my carer respects that."
• "It helps me to live independently, something that I wouldn't be able to do without such a good service."

Reliable Home Carers

We make sure that our live-in carers are compatible with the people who use our care service.

• "I have a regular rota of the same carers so I always know who is coming next."
• Connect Care's staff "stay with me for a couple of weeks then change round, it suits me very well and I think having a regular team of staff is essential because you really build up a good relationship."
• Two people also said how well Connect Care staff worked in partnership with other carers, family members and friends. "...they really go out of their way, one of the carers even went and got a keep fit video and does exercises alongside my relative to ensure the physio exercises are done".
• "I have never had to show my carer how to do anything, they are naturally good."
• Other comments include "there is nothing I need that my carer doesn't know how to do' and 'they seem to be well trained, I don't think there is anything that my carers need extra training in."

Care Staff who understand your Needs

• "My relative's carers are like part of the family, we are like best friends."
• "I couldn't ask for anything better and I look to my carer for support and always get it."
• People who use the service and their relatives know they can refuse to have a certain member of staff for any reason and they know how to do this. Each person spoken with said they are very happy with their current carers and would not wish for them to change.

How Well is the Care Service Managed?
