Live in Carer with Elderly Lady

Live in Carers

We directly recruit, train, assess and manage all of our carers and we are not an introduction agency.  All of our live in carers have passed a thorough screening and interview process.

  • We undertake a minimum of two references and complete a Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA) check and an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
  • All of our live in carers have previous care experience of a minimum of five years.
  • We interview all potential new carers and do this within our offices to ensure the person’s attitudes towards care are suitable and they share our agencies ideals, we only employ live in staff that we would trust to care for ourselves or a member of our own family.
  • We have many carers who while all are professional, experienced and trained have varying personalities and traits to suit all placements from carers who can remain in the background, quiet companionship and outgoing enthusiastic carers who can assist with social activities such as going to the pub.

As we are a small agency we know all our carers well, both in terms of their personality and attributes assisting us to match carers and service users on many levels to ensure the best possible outcome for all members involved.

Live in Carer Training

Our in house training covers all topics required by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and further training to ensure our live in carers are able to give the highest level of care.

Supervision for our Carers

All our carers are supervised regularly and placements receive spot checks both by the manager and supervisor. These spot checks also allow the individual receiving live in care to meet a management member of office staff on a regular basis and discuss the care package they receive as many individuals do not wish to discuss intimate personal matters over the telephone.

Information Packs suited to You

Connect Care Ltd. also create information packs on service user specific conditions to ensure all our live in carers have a high level of understanding increasing the quality of care provided. These information packs are created as required and also include information packs to assist individuals with specific diets to receive the optimum levels of nutrition (such as veganism and Coeliac disease).
